I'm happy with the product, it arrived on time and in good condition, I've already used it and it works well...I would shop at cooking.com again in the future for kitchen products.

Great Fondue pot - not so great heat option
Would not purchase again

The cast iron and the low price eventually led me to purchase this set. The heating of the fondue was great in terms of the pot itself. The heating element that was supplied was a BIG dissapointment! It required fondue LIQUID fuel - and no one sells this in my area, I mean NO ONE! I called everywhere - not even Williams & Sonoma carried this stuff! The only option available to me was the waxy type solid sterno fuel cans. This option delivered too much heat too fast, because the can sat too close to the pot. I had to light the sterno can to warm, put out the flame and then repeat when fondue got too cool - what a HASSLE! They should have a supplier for the liquid fuel listed somewhere in the packaging if the product they sell requires something that is not the norm! Also - the fondue forks supplied are CHEAP! All of the forks have fallen out of the plastic handles - and this was with the first use! I'll have to super glue or find another option - overall the cast iron was great but the other elements made this a dissapointing purchase.

What our Kitchen Experts Say
Remember that when melting chocolate for a chocolate fondue, never add water! Adding water to chocolate causes it to "seize"- meaning the cocoa particles separate from the cocoa butter, causing it to become grainy and unusable. Instead, use a few tablespoons of cream to melt chocolate- and make sure to gently warm the cream before adding it to the melting chocolate.
